Where Is The Sun?

My cousin Nina came by the studio this week. We went to a field where I wanted to do some creative fashion shoot out on the field; however, when we got there, the sun went behind the freaking cloud. I didn't want to wait around too long because we were trespassing.

JFPI Photo Shoot

We had a photo shoot out in a field today. It was a lot of fun being outdoor and all but it was also a lot work packing the cameras, lights, props, wardrobes, chairs, table etc. Well, that's part of the game and I am having a little taste of it. The weather was perfect except for annoying bugs buzzing around us. I got bitten by a blood-sucking fly. That was some nasty shit.

The field you are looking at used to be a farm. Soon, condos and townhouses will replace the corn fields and the fruit trees. So many farms are disappearing fast in Maryland. I want to do some personal photo shoots here before developers moving in.

Modeling

My friend Becky's daughter Amy wants to get into modeling, mostly part time. I, on the other hand, desperately need to update my portfolio. All I have right now is travel photos. I need to expand my gallery. What I need is a portrait gallery. So, what to do when you don't have money to pay for models? You ask your family, friends, their kids and even strangers to pose for you. It's tougher with strangers. I am working on that.

Anyway, my friend Becky and Amy came by the studio, where I employ as a digital retoucher, on Saturday. I had two hours to get my act together and produce something usable. Amy was like a pro. She was so comfortable, first time modeling, in front of the camera which really made my job so much easier. (There are so many agencies especially Elite and Ford would love to represent Amy).

I thought the shoot went pretty well. I can definitely think Now I am going to do some homework for next week's shoot--my cousins are modeling for me.

Lazy Sunday

Had a good lunch this afternoon. I ordered Tom Yum with shrimps and Kee Mao with beef. I drove to two other Thai restaurants but they are closed. So I went to Benjarong in Rockville instead. I guess my mind was set for Thai food today.

After lunch, I came here to Mayorga for some mocha frozen latte. I like this place. They have a nice set up here and of course, free internet. Well, I am going to do some reading and then work on my website project--I am so not wanting to do it:)

Photo Shoot

Last week, John and Kathy's family was kind enough to pose for me. I needed some practice so who could be better guinea pigs than your friends. I thought the photo session went pretty well. During the photo shoot, I tried to make my shots look as natural as possible.

There's bunch of things I could do to improve my shots. Since I am shooting digital now, I can get feedback very quickly. I was a film guy but not anymore. Digital wins me over.

Not sure if John and Kathy want to be my guinea pigs again. I shall ask.

Union Jack's

I went to Union Jack's last night. It's Jodie's last week working with us so the guys and I took her out for a few games of pool. She has been working with us this Summer as an intern doing various stuff that us guys don't want to do haha. Seriously, she's been a great help around the studio. She will be missed :( We are planning to do another get together tomorrow night. Man, I have a busy schedule ahead--drinking all week. Feels like I am on vacation.
